New Fuso Canter 4x4 at fire and emergency services show in Perth
Fuso is presenting the new Fuso Canter 4x4 Crew Cab at the AFAC Australian emergency services exhibition that starts in Perth today (NOTE: Aug 26).
The rugged Canter 4x4 had been getting the job done off the beaten track since first hit Australian dirt in 1989. With low-range, locking front hubs and a rear LSD, it is the ultimate emergency response vehicle.
The facelifted version is making its AFAC debut at the event that is being held at the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre.
It features an all-new exterior design and improved multimedia screen inside the cab. What hasn’t changed is the 4x4 Canter’s rugged reliability and its ability to get the job done off the beaten track.
Central to its capabilities is the 4x4 Canter’s low-range gearbox and locking front hubs and rear LSD. It also has off-road tyres to help with traction and drum brakes all round to help protect vital brake components and maximise durability.
All 4x4 Canter models feature the Wide Cab, but customers can choose between and single cab and a crew cab version. The regular Wide Cab can seat three (including the driver), while the Crew Cab can seat seven people, including the driver.
Fuso also offers a Fire Spec option, which deletes the airbags, power windows and central locking features.
The Canter 4x4 has a Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) of 6.5 tonne (10.5 tonne GCM) but is also available with a 4.5 tonne GVM, so it can be driven on a car licence.
As part of Daimler Truck, Fuso has a vast support network spread across Australia.
“The Canter 4x4 has proven itself in tough Australian conditions over decades as a go-anywhere workhorse that combines off-road capability with legendary durability,” he says.
“We are really excited to introduce our new Canter 4x4 to fire and emergency service members at the AFAC show in Perth,” he says.
